KPA Hosts Flagler College's 2009 Etiquette Dinner
About 100 Flagler College students recently learned the professional etiquette they’ll need to advance their careers at a free dinner sponsored by Kresge, Platt & Abare, CPAs.
The night at Aviles Restaurant began with a “mocktail” hour, encouraging the students to network and present themselves in a professional manner. Eight representatives from Kresge, Platt & Abare – which is a tax preparation, consulting, auditing and accounting firm – were on hand to interact, observe and make suggestions on communication techniques to students. Topics included better communication via eye contact, handshakes, attire and how to properly eat appetizers and hold beverages while networking.
During the 3-course formal dinner, speakers gave presentations about etiquette blunders they have experienced in the business world and educated students on how to avoid business faux pas.
